UTN Champions Rural Health at Utah Rural Health Conference

As part of its commitment to improving healthcare access across Utah, UTN served as the organizer and facilitator for the Telehealth Pre-Conference Workshop.

The Utah Telehealth Network (UTN) proudly supported the 2025 Rural Health Association of Utah (RHAU) Annual Conference as a sponsor, facilitator, and thought leader in advancing rural health initiatives. Held November 12–13 at the Dixie Convention Center, the conference focused on “The Rural Advantage: Collaboration, Community, and Innovation.”

As part of its commitment to improving healthcare access across Utah, UTN served as the organizer and facilitator for the Telehealth Pre-Conference Workshop, titled “Telehealth Opportunities to Increase Access and Continuity of Care in Hospitals, Clinics, and Schools.” This session brought together experts to explore innovative telehealth strategies that bridge gaps in rural healthcare delivery in hospital, clinic, and school settings.

UTN Director Sarah Bauman contributed as a presenter in the Fundraising Breakout Session, “Funding Opportunities for Utah’s Rural Healthcare Providers: Accessing Grants & Building Grant Readiness,” sharing insights on leveraging telehealth and technology to strengthen rural health systems. Bauman also serves on the RHAU Advisory Council, increasing collaboration across organizations that support telehealth in rural Utah.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Deb LaMarche Telehealth Award, honoring excellence in telehealth innovation and leadership. UTN Associate Director of IT Marz Cesarini presented this prestigious award to Trevor Olsen, recognizing his outstanding contributions to advancing access to critical telebehavioral health services for students in San Juan County.

The conference provided a platform for collaboration among healthcare leaders, policymakers, and community advocates dedicated to improving health outcomes in Utah’s rural communities. UTN’s active participation underscores its mission to expand telehealth access and foster innovation in healthcare delivery statewide.
