UETN Board Elects New Chair and Vice Chair

The Utah Education and Telehealth Network Governing Board is pleased to announce the election of Christina Baum-Denise as Chair and Jason Strate as Vice Chair.

Christina Baum has represented Higher Education on the UETN Board since February 2022. She is currently the Associate Vice President of Academic and Student Digital Services at Utah Valley University and formerly served as the Chief Information Officer for Ensign College. Baum brings a wealth of experience in information technology and higher education to her role as UETN Board Chair. Christina also serves on the UETN Finance Committee.

Jason Strate is the Director at Central Utah Educational Services (CUES), a Regional Education Service Agency serving seven school districts in central Utah. Strate has over 26 years of experience in education, including roles as a teacher, coach and administrator.  Jason has represented Public Education on the UETN Board of Directors since August 2022 and also serves on the Policy Committee. His experience in K-12 education will be invaluable in his new role as Vice Chair.

The board also welcomes new members Jennifer Covington, Rich Nye and Cara Rothman representing Public Education, the Office of the Governor and the State Library System respectively.

The board extends its sincere gratitude to outgoing Chair Patty Norman for her exceptional leadership and dedication to UETN. Norman will continue to serve as a valued member of the board.

We look forward to the continued leadership and guidance of the UETN Board as we work to enhance education and telehealth opportunities throughout Utah.
